Item 1A. Risk Factors
The disclosure below supplements and updateswere no material changes during the current period to the risk factors previously disclosed under Item 1A. Risk Factors of Part I of the Companys Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025.
CHANGES IN ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL CONDITIONS COULD ADVERSELY AFFECT OUR EARNINGS THROUGH DECLINES IN DEPOSITS, LOAN DEMAND, THE ABILITY OF OUR CUSTOMERS TO REPAY LOANS AND THE VALUE OF THE COLLATERAL SECURING OUR LOANS.
Our success depends to a significant extent upon local and national economic and political conditions, as well as govern, as supplemental fiscal and monetary policies. Conditions such as inflation, recession, unemployment, changes in interest rates, fiscal and monetary policy, an increasing federal government budget deficit, ted by the failure of the federal government to raise the federal debt ceiling and/or possible future U.S. government shutdowns over budget disagreements, slowing gross domestic product, threatened or imposed tariffs, a U.S. withdrawal from or significant renegotiation of trade agreements and other changes in the relationship of the U.S. and U.S. global partners, trade wars, and other factors beyond our control may adversely affect Civistas deposit levels and composition, the quality of investment securities available for purchase, demand for loans, the ability of Civistas borrowers to repay their loans, and the value of the collateral securing loans made by Civista. As evidenced by the ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Iran, disruptions and changes in oil production and the supply of oil and related commodities and products in the Middle East, as well as other disruptions in U.S. and global markets, also effect the economy and stock prices in disclosures under "Item 1A. Risk Factors" of Part II of the Company's Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the U.S. Because we have a significant amount of real estate loans, decreases in real estate values could adversely affect the value of property used as collateral and our ability to sell the collateral upon foreclosure. Adverse changes in the economy may also have a negative effect on the ability of our borrowers to make timely repayments of their loans, which would have an adverse impact on our earnings and cash flows.fiscal quarter ended March 31, 2026.
